2016 Toyota Prado Redesign, Specs and Release Date

The 2016 Toyota Prado is the successor of the renowned Toyota Land Cruiser Brand. The fourth-generation Prado is a mid-sized SUV which uses the updated J150 platform, an improved version of old J150 platform which was used by previous models in Land Cruiser lineup. The 2016 Prado is reported to have a standard rear-wheel-drive system while the four-wheel-drive system is optional.

The Prado has always maintained its square-like appearance ever since it was first produced. The 2016 model is expected to keep this same conventional look, but it will get a number of refreshed features that will make it more attractive and modern too. The same case is expected with its interior which will not only be comfy, but also spacious and full of the latest technological elements. The upcoming model will receive an exterior styling upgrade with a new front fascia, refreshed headlights and some minor changes on its suspension. Prado fans are also hopeful of finding a new grille and restyled LED headlights. The automaker is expected to increase 2016 Toyota Prado off-road abilities, and this might lead to adding skid plates and new bigger wheels. There will be seven exterior colors for buyers to choose from.

2016 Toyota Prado has well-equipped interior which includes an inbuilt AM/FM Radio, LCD touch screen display, CD & MP3 player etc. It also offers standard safety & security features in addition to major assist mechanism which includes Hill Start Assist, Vehicle Stability Control mechanism, Down Hill Drive Assist, Active Traction Control etc along with better maneuverability & handling procedure. 2016 Toyota Prado also allows for keyless smart entry module in addition to a rear view back up camera system.

2016 Toyota Prado offers a wide range of engine options with the most basic being a 3.0L, turbo diesel unit which can produce a total of 170 HP power & 302 lb -ft torque. An alternate power train offers a VVT-I petrol based 4.0L, V-6 cylinder engine that has a power & torque output of 270 HP and 281 lb-ft respectively. One should also note that Toyota Motor Corporation is further planning on releasing a hybrid variant with a fully-fledged electric engine. Both power trains have been paired with a manual or automatic 6 speed & automatic 5 speed power transmission system respectively. However, it should be duly noted that the company is yet to reveal the final specs and as a result variations in trim levels & configuration are possible.

2016 Toyota Prado Release Date and Price

Look for the 2016 Toyota Prado to be introduced sometime next year as 2016 model year. According to some sources, the new Prado would cost around $56,000 up to $95,000. Competition will be Nissan Pathfinder, Jeep Wrangler, and Mitsubishi Pajero. Stay tuned for future updates!
