2016 Dodge Charger Specs, Release Date and Review

Recent reports said that the 2016 Dodge Charger will join the lineup soon. The upcoming Charger sedan is rumored to use new platform. The current version uses Chrysler’s LX platform, which means we can expect that the new sedan will have new exterior looks as well as its interior. New engines are also possible for this vehicle.

Its nameplate was used for various car models from hatchbacks to sedans and luxury coupes. At the moment seventh generation Charger is on the roll and everybody expects its new 2016 Dodge Charger model, since the 2015th model was offered as all new version it is quite obvious that 2016th version will come with only small changes or even as a carryover. Switch to RWD platform from a regular Chrysler LX one that was based on since 2011 it now comes a much complete vehicle.

2016 Charger is reported to have a much better look which is more aggressive than its predecessor. The car is also ready with a new chassis. The car is followed its sibling, Challenger which comes with facelifted concept. The major change could be the presence of solid line along to its tail-lamps and eliminate the individual LED lights which are obviously could be seen. Some are sayings that the car will have a change around its rear lights which is extended to make a better visual change. Actually, the car will be less boxy for 2016 Dodge.

Interior of the 2016 Dodge Charger is probably going to come with some larger changes. One of the things that is going to stay the same is its new steering wheel, updated in 2015, which is the same one that you can find in Dodge Durango. Base version of 2015 model came with 5.4 inch infotainment display, with possibility to upgrade it to 8.4 inches one. We hope that in the new model 8.4 inches display is going to come as a standard option in base version or some higher trim level. If this happens Chrysler will have our eternal gratitude. New 2016 Dodge Charger is also going to come with last year introduced Uconnect software that deals with vast variety of connectivity options from Bluetooth and voice control to voice text messages, turning car in a Wi Fi hotspot and 3D navigation system. All done by the new software integration and all that sounds quite impressive.

Most important segment when it comes to these muscle models is of course the performance. Last year model came with two newly retuned engines. Under the base version’s hood there was a 3.6 liter Pentastar V6 thatwas able to produce 300 horsepower and 262 pound feet of torque and it gets 31 mpg on the highway which is really impressive for its class. Top of the line engine is the 5.7 liter HEMI V8, this beast comes with 370 horsepower and 395 pound feet of torque. There are also rumors about introducing a Charger Hellcat model. Since we know that the Challenger Hellcat is at the moment the most powerful muscle car on the market we can expect the same if not even more from this model’s version. This on the other hand means that Chrysler decided to place all the additional horsepower and torque into the new Hellcat project, which means that regular Charger will probably come with the mentioned two engines from last year.
