2016 Buick Envision Specifications, Release Date and Review

People are hoping that the 2016 Buick Envision crossover to be available in the United States market. Launched in the last Chengdu Motor Show, the vehicle is set to fill the gap between the sub-compact two-rows Buick Encore and the full-size three-rows Buick Enclave. The five-passengers crossover is mainly built for china buyers since Buick’s sales number has been good for years there.

The 2016 Envision utilizes GM’s new D2XX vehicle architecture, which succeeds the Delta 2 platform. The architecture is expected to be shared with the second-generation Chevrolet Equinox and GMC Terrain, among other compact-sized vehicles with a front, transversely-mounted engine configuration from General Motors.

According to Buick, the design of the Envision “represents Buick’s latest design philosophy”. It builds on the “design essence of the Buick Envision concept vehicle, reflecting Buick’s new design language that emphasizes dynamics, smooth ride, tranquility, and comfort.”

The overall design is not only sporty and elegant, but features SUV styling cues. The front end is highlighted by the brand’s signature waterfall drag-reducing grille, wing-styled HID automatic headlamps, and LED daytime running lights, all of which give the Envision an imposing and aggressive stance. An aluminum alloy luggage rack and class-leading 19-inch aluminum alloy wheels echo the stylish design. The revised Buick emblem with red, silver, and blue colors graces the front of the vehicle.

The interior images reveal that the Envision will boast a well-appointed cockpit available with several dashboard trim materials including real wood. An eight-inch touch screen will run Buick’s IntelliLink infotainment system, and buyers will be able to select high-tech driving aids including a lane departure warning system and automatic parking assistance.

Power will likely come from a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine rated at around 256 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque, joined to a six-speed automatic transmission. The engine may also feature mild hybrid technology, which shuts down the engine when coasting, braking or when the Envision is stopped. A sophisticated all-wheel-drive system should also be available.
