2016 Acura RDX Redesign, Specs, Price and Review

Rumors of redesigned RDX, the 2016 Acura RDX, are becoming hot topics discussed between car enthusiasts. Constant competition between big brands in the market segment forces automakers to innovate and update their lineup models. The same thing also happens to Acura, the updated RDX should be introduced sometime next year, bringing some mid refresh to the model. Sources said that complete redesign is planned for 2018 model.



From visual appearance perspective, the 2016 Acura RDX will have a lot to offer in terms of designing, coloring and instrumentation. For instance, this new luxury compact SUV will get fresh and finer fenders, bumpers and grilles that will make look more aggressive. Headlights, taillights and fog lights will be redesigned and fitted with LED lighting which will enhance their functionality. Wheels and suspensions will also be strengthened and enhanced to meet the required levels.



Many improvements will also be done to improve the interior of the 2016 Aura RDX. This will start from the cabin which will be classically furnished and redesigned to meet all customer needs. The seats are expected to be heated, fitted with contemporary leather and enriched with strong metallic supports. The overall storage and passenger space will be increased to provide adequate comfort to all users. The new 2016 Acura RDX will also receive a package of high-tech equipment such as audio systems for enhanced entertainment, air conditioning systems to provide comfortable interior and a number of navigation systems that will work to guarantee high level of safety. The interior designing and styling will be enhanced to guarantee high levels of beauty.



Acura has received approval by the Ford Motor Company for using planned engine. This new engine will debut for the 2015 model and will be placed also under the hood of 2016 RDX. It is about 3.5L V6 engine. Engine characterizes ability to produce maximum of 273 hp (at 6200 rpm), as well as 251 lb-ft (at 5000 rpm). Engine will be paired to the same automatic transmission, with six divisions for speeds. This gearbox characterizes SportShift sequential and GLC. Regard to drive mode, standard will be front-wheel, and all-wheel drive is optionally. EPA has estimated current model with 23 mpg in combined driving for model with FWD. Average consumption for model with AWD is characterized with 22 mpg.


Release Date and Price

Currently, Acura hasn’t provided any details about its reveal, but we expect that the 2016 Acura RDX will be revealed sometime in 2015 as 2016 model year. Pricing should not change much from the current one. Base model’s pricing will start from $35,000 while the range-topper should cost around $40,000.
